Zen Butterfly

Ron, a Canadian, has been an artist all his life. After graduating in graphic design he travelled extensively abroad before finding himself in Hong Kong. After decades there working as a creative director in the publishing industry he eventually relocated to Vancouver where he is based. Now retired, he spends his time in his Mount Pleasant studio. He works in acrylic on canvas and some photography. His main purpose of art is pleasure. The thrill achieved from free experimentation, playing with color and texture and images is the absolute best feeling. He is constantly trying new ideas and creative concepts and never getting stuck in the same old routine. He loves bold use of color and free spontaneous brushstrokes keeping his work fresh and contemporary. He also enjoys playing with typography and images. Always looking for a unique creative challenge keeps him moving forward. He hopes the joy and enthusiasm he experiences in the creation of his artwork is felt by the viewer.
