Art Downtown

A vibrant annual event located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, now celebrating its 6th edition in 2025.

In partnership with the Downtown Van (Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association) and Opus Art Supplies, this community-focused initiative transforms downtown into an inclusive and accessible open-air gallery and artist studio.

This dynamic outdoor art fair brings together emerging and established artists to create, showcase, and sell their work in an inspiring plaza setting. Attendees can witness onsite art creation firsthand, interact with the creative process, and enjoy live musical performances, all the while exploring a diverse array of artistic expressions.

Free and open to the general public to attend, Art Downtown welcomes people of all races and genders to engage with local artists, celebrate cultural enrichment, and foster community connection. The event also offers workshops and live art demonstrations, making it a special part of Vancouver's summer arts calendar.

After years of running throughout the summer, Art Downtown returns in 2025 as a more focused series of three special dates, each thoughtfully programmed to celebrate local art in a vibrant, welcoming setting. Join us at Lot 19 on Thursday, July 17, August 7, and August 14, from 11 AM to 5 PM.

On August 14 from 12 PM to 1 PM, experience Art Masters, a high-energy live art competition where participating artists create original works under pressure. The twist? A surprise theme and materials are revealed just one minute before the competition begins. Whether working in digital formats, on canvas, or in sculpture, each artist must respond on the spot, turning raw ideas into finished pieces before your eyes for you to vote on.

This event is free and open to the public, offering a great opportunity to meet local artists. For updates, including potential cancellations due to rain, please follow us on social media at @vvafofficial. We look forward to seeing you at the market.

Lot 19, 855 West Hastings,

Thursdays from July 17, August 7, and August 14 from 11 AM till 5 PM.
