Vancouver Mural Festival

Vancouver Mural Festival has evolved into a highly anticipated, exciting addition to the city’s arts scene. Supporting a diverse community of emerging artists, the event that has led to the colourful walls of the Mount Pleasant area continues to grow in popularity.

For the first time ever, the Art Vancouver team took part with a booth that displayed artwork from some of its previous artists. Live painting demonstrations were also performed by the Vancouver-based talents Jake Bull and William Liao.

Lyssa Kayra and Jess Devenport, previous Art! Vancouver exhibitors and the founders of the new paint-by-number mural company, Paintillio, were also on site. They had constructed a large scale painting for the public to help complete at the festival. On it was the face of the well-known Vancouver born actor Seth Rogen, who later took to Twitter to comment on the painting, stating: “There was a giant “paint by numbers” version of my head in Vancouver and I’ve never been more honoured.”

Thank you to everyone who came out to support!

The Vancouver Visual Art Foundation acknowledges that it operates on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish people of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations. We are grateful to be gathered here and recognize our privileged place on these lands.
